£91.99Of Heroes And Demons - Rob Romeyn
An epic programmatic work that captures the fight between good and evil. The work opens with a heroic fanfare that commands attention. From here the music subsides into a beautifully lyric chorale section. Our musical story begins to unfold as the "demons" theme is introduced. The theme is developed and expanded, creating a feeling of unresolved conflict, ultimately leading to a thunderous conclusion. From here, the heroic theme returns, stronger and more developed this time as our battle between good and evil comes to its conclusion, but not before a brief final battle creating a dramatic end to the piece that will have your audiences on their feet. £79.99Free Running - Robert Buckley
Free Running is an exciting, high velocity tour-de-force that will keep both musicians and the audience on the edge of their seats. Inspiration for the work came from the pointillistic paintings of Seurat (who created images by using tiny spots of primary colors on his canvas) and from Parkour, a form of urban acrobatics in which participants, known as free runners, use the structures of the rural landscape to perform catlike leaps and sprints. The resulting creation is a non-stop piece of music made up of only staccato notes in a constant rhythm moving through different sections of the ensemble. Free Running was commissioned by the Troy University Symphony Band for the 2011Alabama Music Educators Association Convention. Ideal for concert or festival use, it is guaranteed to leave the audience breathless! Dur: 5:10Recorded by the Troy University Symphony Band - Ralph Ford, conductor

Andante from the Surprise Symphony - Franz Joseph Haydn
"He alone has the secret of making me smile, and touching me to the bottom of my soul," said Mozart about "Papa" Haydn and his music. The "Surprise" Symphony (No.94), incidentally written during the final year of Mozart's short life, has become one of Haydn's most memorable works.Since this symphony was written during the zenith of the Classical period, Timothy Johnson's skillful arrangement gives you a perfect opportunity to teach your young band "lightness" and control as essentials of Classical style playing. You can introduce the concept of making the staccato notes "separated" instead of just "short" in order to best approximate the sound of the times. It's a naturalselection for your next festival or concert! Why not give your young band a chance to meet "Papa" Haydn through this charming arrangement?
