The Trattamars (Tratta March) was originally written for 'Il trattamento miracolo', an ensemble of five, performing light-hearted musical acts for the young and the old. This march is played when the members of the group appear on stage. The Dutch composer of the march, Matthias van Nispen tot Pannerden, studied classical saxophone as well as band conducting and composition at the Brabant Conservatory in Tilburg. He is a baritone saxophonist with the Orkest van de Koninklijke Luchtmacht (Band of the Royal Netherlands Air force). He is also active as a freelance conductor and composer.

Intuition is a march for the youngest of students that uses only the first six notes of the Bb scale and the most difficult rhythm is two repeated eighth-notes. Julius Fucik (Prague 1872 - Leitmeritz 1916) is rightly considered as the 'Czech March King'. This pupil of Antonin Dvorak was a military bandmaster in the Imperial and Royal Army of the Austrian-Hungarian Danube Monarchy. His marches 'Florentiner Marsch' and 'Entry of the Gladiators' became world famous, but we should not forget neither his splendid overtures (such as 'Marinarella') nor his famous bassoon solo 'Der alte Brummbr' (The Old Grumbler). The magnificent concert march 'Under the Admiral's Flag' Opus 82 was written for the official launching ceremony of the cruiser 'Viribus unitis' of the Austrian-Hungarian Navy. It was the second march by Fucik to be published, the first being 'Sarajevo'.
