This work, composed as ceremonial music, was to be part of a march medley for the participants' entry for the 2019 Inter-High School Championships, held in Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan. It was given its world premiere by the Kagoshima Prefectural Shoyo High School Symphonic Band under the direction of their teacher, Junya Tateishi. This work, fusing Japanese folk songs with march music, will have a wide appeal much like its sister works March-Bou-Shu and March-Chagu-Chagu, also published by De Haske Publications (Hal Leonard Europe).

This suite for wind band consists of three Old Irish melodies: "March" is a traditional Irish march of slower 6/8 beat. Led by a characteristically accented drum, the drone effect of a Uilleann bagpipe rings through for an air of courage. Next is a beautiful and nostalgic theme titled "Yellow Village Gate" in Gaelic, the first language of Ireland. Here, a solo piccolo presents the image of a simple fife. "Reel" is a typical Irish dance of very quick tempo. Maintaining the pace from beginning to end, intensified motion combining duple and 6/8 meter drives through to the coda's bold conclusion. The march Mxima was written by Eric Swiggers, commisioned by the "Koninklijke Marechaussee". It premiered in the gardens of country estate Eikenhorst in the presence of Princess Mxima and Prince Willem-Alexander, performed by de fanfare band of the "Koninklijke Marechaussee". The, at the time still, princely couple was delighted with the new march. Mxima is now also available for wind band.
