£57.50Kiskiminetas (To Make Daylight) - Paul Murtha
Kiskiminetas is a Native American word that means to make daylight and was likely a command given to break camp and continue the journey. Paul Murtha's escriptive work for young players opens with a noble fanfare suggesting the break of day. A lyric section follows depicting scenic vistas along the path, and finally an exuberant adventure theme celebrates the conclusion of the journey. Nicely paced with plenty of variety.

£256.99The Unknown Journey - Philip Sparke
The Unknown Journey was commissioned by Kwansei Gakuin University Symphony Band which was established in 1954 and has grown to become one of the top college bands in Japan. The composer chose the title as the piece seemed to create its ownmomentum as it developed, starting slowly and continuously increasing the tempo. Towards the end it gradually transmogrifies into the closing bars of Ravel's La Valse, a piece which perfectly characterises the idea of unstoppable momentum.

£71.50A Quiet Journey Home - Shabazz
Based on the well known spiritual, "His Eye Is On The Sparrow", this Grainger-esque setting is an outstanding programming choice for better bands. Pitched in the key of Db, the close harmonies require mature legato phrasing and close attention to dynamics at a slow tempo. Challenging, but well worth the effort, "A Quiet Journey Home" is an eloquent composition that will allow your group to expand its musical horizons. Very highly recommended!

£104.50Night Journey - Scott Watson
Night Journey vividly describes a nocturnal cross country train ride and the views and impressions of the evocative and darkened landscape. The stark imagery and introspective tone are startlingly reflected through the creative and colorful sounds infused with blues and other jazz references, as well as allusions to the power and movement of the machinery of the locomotive. The visual images brought to mind evoke scenes of a train station at night with the passengers boarding, followed by the whistle blowing as the train slowly pulls away, gaining momentum before hurtling relentlessly through the dark and expansive scenery.
