Along the Weser, as the title suggests, is an homage to the river Weser, the beautiful waterway that meanders through Northern Germany. With its exuberant rhythms and lyrical melodic lines, the work mirrors the strong bond between theinhabitants of the region and the river itself. The connecting thread is the melody of the well-known 'An der Weser', composed by Gustav Pressel to lyrics by Franz von Dingelstedt, which has been incorporated in three different ways. The result is acomposition that is sure to be enjoyed by both musicians and audience alike.

This 4-movement suite tells the story of the beautiful French town 'Tulle' that was built on seven hills, just like Rome and Lisbon. The composer depicts the history of the town, as well as important events such as the bloodbath during World War II, the fabric 'tulle' after which the town is named and the festive annual fair. Since Tulle is also known for the production of Accordions, the composer added an 'ad libitum' Accordion part. A really charming and stylish concert or contest work!

The White Stone was commissioned by the band of the catholic parish of Dossenheim on the occasion of the 1250th anniversary of the town of Dossenheim near Heidelberg, Germany. The work is named after a high peak (White Stone) in the east of the town. Throughout the piece the composer uses the tune 'How lovely you are, my Dossenheim' in different forms and shapes, and musically he depicts the history and landscapes of this idyllic town. A challenging and versatile concert work with lots of beautiful melodies as well as rhythmical and energetic sequences.

This work is named after the Turkish word for 'landscape': Manzara. The title describes the marshland in Rheinland-Pfalz, which in 150 years has gradually been transformed into a wild landscape through the harvesting of peat. Different musical elements such as fugues and rhythmical patterns, as well as beautiful melodic themes, depict several aspects of the evolution and occurrences of this region. Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg (1843-1907) wrote a lot of songs, several of which Jacob de Haan has arranged for ensemble of variable strength. The songs are: Fremad! Singapore Rhapsody - Jacob de Haan
Singapore Rhapsody is an exciting work in two movements based on popular Malaysian folksongs. The songs that occur in the first movement are Rasa Sayang eh (a love song), Gelang Sipaku Gelang (a song about community spirit), Suriram (a song about a girl proclaiming her virtues) and Di-Tanjung Katong (a love song that takes place at the Cape Katong on the southeast coast of Singapore). The second movement features Lenggang Kangkung, which literally means "The swaying of the watercress," Katang Lompat (a moralistic song about the symbolism of the frog) and finally Kenek kenek-lah Udang (a wedding song). Each movement of this enchanting work can be performed separately but acomplete performance will be the crowning moment of any concert.
