Beginner's Suite - Øystein Sjøvaag Heimdal
This is a four-part suite written for beginning bands at grade level 1. The four movements are different in character and style, and can be performed as a suite or as single movements.Every part is challenging and the melody areplayed by various instruments throughout the piece.Several doublings makes it playable also with a smaller band than the scoring indicate.

£42.50Encore! - Goto Yo
Encore! was commissioned by Ishikawa Prefecture Band Association to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2010. The commissioning request was that the piece be fun and appropriate as an encore. I made it simple and enjoyable for everyone.The only thing I added was an appealing introduction so each entering section might feel the importance of their instrument. That's why there is a specified appearance order involving standing. It goes from 1) clarinets, 2) piccolo, flute, horn, oboe and bassoon, 3) percussion, 4) euphonium, tuba and double bass, 5) trombone, 6) saxophone to 7) trumpet. Lastly, all sections stand up together and greet the audience. Technically, it's a medium grade level. There are substitutions for bands lacking oboe, bassoon or double bass.The title was selecting hoping for a fun, grand finale. It also means "more" and "again." My hope is for performers and audience to enjoy music, and for Ishikawa Prefecture Band Association to nourish its band movements and activities. I could not ask for more if people come to love music even more by experiencing this work.(Yo Goto)

Latin Folk Song Trilogy - William Himes
A marvelous suite! The bright, cheerful opening will engage the entire audience from the first measure. Movement 1 is based on El Tortillero (The Tortilla Vendor), and is very creatively scored including the joyful dissonance of a busy street corner. The heartfelt and poignant second movement makes a pleasant contrast, and the Allegro Festivo marking for the third movement means more fun in the sun, including wonderful Percussion parts. LATIN FOLK SONG TRILOGY is a large-scale work for Grade 3, but the suite format keeps it manageable and William Himes' skillful scoring keeps all parts interesting to play while within appropriate technical demands.

While I have written the piece in g minor, I have thrown in some diminished 7 chords and added some v chords for extraordinary sounds and novelty that students (and teachers who are tired of hearing I-iv-v-I over and over) are sure to latch on to and enjoy. The ranges on all of the instruments are well within the grade level of the piece, with Trumpet 1 going as high as 4th line D (just a couple of times), flute going no higher than their "C" and Trombone hitting their high E-flat one time. £134.99Twilight In The Wilderness - Christopher Tucker
This intermediate band work shares its title with a painting by Frederic Edwin Church of surpassing magnificence and brilliance. Church lived around the time of the Civil War and became known particularly for his striking portrayals of sunsets in the American landscape. The form consists of two main sections connected by an interlude providing both a macro and micro soundscape which reflects and celebrates Church's masterful canvas. Recorded birdsong accompaniment is available from the publisher for this work by emailing [email protected]. Track 1 includes birdsong to be used at the beginning of the piece, track 2 includes 15 seconds of silence, and track 3 includes birdsong to be started at measure 72. The birdsong was recorded during many various wilderness walks, mixed with special panning effects, and produced with audio levels in mind. This means the birdsong will not require the use of outside volume adjustment during the performance. Grade 3. Duration ca. 9'.
