This highly programmatic piece gives you a front-row seat in the viewing stands as it depicts a high-speed car race. The opening section starts the engines, sets the pole position, and then the race is on. The action slows briefly for a caution flag, and then its full throttle as the race resumes with a wild dash to the finish line, closing with a triumphant victory lap.

In La Cittadella Kees Vlak reflects the stark contrastsin the Italian mountain village Assisi. On the onehand there is the bustle of the hundreds ofthousands visitors who have come to admire thebeautiful San Francesco Basilica. On the otherhand within the city walls there is La Cittadella, acomplex of buildings where severely handicappedpeople are taken care of by sisters. The Ceresio, also called Lugano Lake, is located in the sub-alpine area between Lake Como and Lake Maggiore. Two-thirds of its surface is on Swiss territory, while the remaining one-third belongs to Italy. The lake has a peculiar shape, sinuous and characteristic for its unevenness. Along its shores, there are numerous tourist sites such as the city of Lugano, which stands out for its beauty. Commissioned in 2001 by the Lugano Police to celebrate their 100th anniversary, Ceresio is a piece with a Latin flavour, which is especially noticeable in the trio section.

Ireland is a multi-faceted country that has developed a popular and distinctive musical culture. The first movement of Dublin Pictures reflects Irish festivals where there is dancing and traditional beer flowing. More tranquil in its feel, the second movement illustrates the landscape that can be seen from the Ha'penny Bridge, a bridge that crosses the River Liffey in Dublin. This movement highlights the wide range of the orchestra's sound colours as the musicians' voices combine with the wind and percussion to accompany the soloist. The lively and joyful rhythms of the last movement take the listener to Temple Bar, the famous tourist quarter of the city, well knownfor its vibrant nightlife. The music's energy and virtuosic motifs are in contrast to the previous movement and provide a spirited and festive finale.Marc Jeanbourquin wrote this piece in three movements for Azimuts Brass in 2011. He then arranged it for Concert, Fanfare or Brass Band
