Score and Parts. This work was especially composed for Rachel Smith and the Regimental Band of Her Majesty's Coldtream Guards. It is essentially rhapsodic in nature and derives much of it's melodic material from the harmonic implication of the 'Neapolitan Sixth' chord - that of the flatten supertonic, mostly found in minor key tonalities. The composer gratefully acknowledges the assistance of Rachel Smith in editing the solo part for both performance and publication. Sanctus (Concert Band - Score and Parts)
Simple, elegant and beautiful, this setting of the traditional African-American hymn is a welcome addition to the beginning band repertoire. Lyrical, flowing lines provide a welcome opportunity to teach phrasing. Full band statements combined with both woodwind and brass choir features create a unique teaching opportunity for the very beginning band. Although the original melody and this arrangement use only six notes in their construction, this setting is suitable for performance by bands at multiple levels. Highly recommended!

Showdown for Band (Concert Band - Score and Parts)
Showdown for Band was written as a compulsory exercise for the Third International Light Music Competition at St. Gallen, Switzerland in 1998. The intention of the composer was to write a piece in a light music style that would at the same time challenge the various bands, particularly in the area of rhythm. The work is divided into four parts: Opening, Ballad, Finale and Ending. Using melodies that are easy on the ear and varied instrumentation, many facets of the entire band are displayed. The solo in the middle part can be played by either soprano or alto saxophone, or even by a flugel horn.
