£29.95Prelude on 'Lavenham' (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Nobes, Geoffrey
Prelude on 'Lavenham' was written for the 130th anniversary, in 2014, of Lavenham Corps in Suffolk and was first performed at their anniversary concert in the village's beautiful Parish Church by Kettering Citadel Band. It's an arrangement of a tune the composer wrote to the words, 'Lord, there are times', a lovely hymn by the Reverend Nick Fawcett. The arrangement is dedicated to the memory of Bandmaster Derek Wilding of Lavenham Corps. The music is serene and free-flowing and was written with the rich and warm acoustics of the lovely medieval church very much in mind. It should be played cantabile throughout, with close attention to contrasts in dynamics.

£99.95Sinfonietta No.2 - A Sign of the Times (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Wiffin, Rob
It was an interesting challenge to return to the form of a sinfonietta some twenty years after the last one. This work is not hugely problematic to play but was written without regard for technical demands, following a series of compositions that needed to take difficulty level into consideration. The work has five percussion parts but the tuned percussion, although desirable, can be omitted. As for the band parts, Oboe 2 is largely covered elsewhere but the colour of the cor anglais would be a definite enhancement to the overall sound. The work was written in 2025 when it seemed as if the world was a particularly volatile place. The first movement 'Foment' seeks to capture that menacing mood of unrest and the potential for violence that seemed to erupt without warning and without efforts to contain it from warmongers posing as peacemakers. The music is severe and focussed with just a short scherzo-like episode of levity to balance the quasi-military mood.'A Dream of Peace' takes a few moments to contemplate a different, more peaceful world and several ideas are considered before settling on the slow waltz-like melody. This uses a very tonal language but is given a particular hue by its use of sevenths and ninths and there are moments of stress which disrupt the tranquillity. In 'Call to Arms' the warlike mood returns with a sense of restless energy that drives the music to its conclusion.- Rob WiffinDuration: 14.00

£64.95Symphonic Rhapsody for Euphonium and Band (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Gregson, Edward - Farr, Ray
This work, transcribed for Wind-band by Ray Farr, maintains a strongly lyrical style, and whilst the variation element is a fundamental feature, the close adherence to thematic material and recapitulative 'echoes' create a cohesive whole, making the conception satisfyingly unified. The theme is that of an old song: So we'll roll the old chariot along, And we won't drag on behind.

After setting foot ashore, we are struck by the beautiful way the medieval buildings here blend harmoniously with modern architecture. Our walk through the city continues: we visit the serene cathedral and are impressed by the picturesque faades of and around the city hall, as well as the Brabo Fountain on the Grote Markt (Large Market Square). £72.99Memories of the Past (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Yagisawa, Satoshi
This beautiful chorale was commissioned by the Temasek Junior College Alumni Band from Singapore and is dedicated to its conductor, Mr. Lin Ah Leck, who sadly passed away in 2019. £32.95Bones in the Stores (Trombone Section feature with Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Wiffin, Rob
This arrangement for trombone section and band combines two well-known wartime songs The Quartermaster's Store and Bless 'em all to give the trombone section a thorough workout as well as a lot of fun. The Quartermaster's Store is a traditional song from England. The origins of both tune and words are uncertain and may actually date back as far as the English Civil War. The origins of Bless 'em All are also unclear. The words have been credited to Fred Godfrey in 1917 set to music composed by Robert Kewley but earlier versions of the song may have been in existence among British military personnel in the 1880s in India. It was first recorded by George Formby Jr in 1940 and became a patriotic song.Duration: 2.45
