Of the Father's Heart Begotten alternatively known as Of the Father's Love Begotten is a doctrinal hymn based on the Latin poem 'Corde natus' by the Roman poet Aurelius Prudentius. The ancient poem was translated and paired with a medieval plainchant melody Divinum mysterium. Divinum mysterium was a Sanctus trope - an ancient plainchant melody which over the years had been musically embellished. An early version of this chant appears in manuscript form as early as the 10th century, although without the melodic additions, and trope versions with various melodic differences appear in Italian, German, Gallacian, Bohemian and Spanish manuscripts dating from the 13th to 16th centuries. Dissatisfied with an earlier translation, Roby Furley Davis (1866-1937), a scholar at St. John's College, Cambridge, wrote a new version for the English Hymnal of 1906. This version was also used in the popular Carols for Choirs series by David Willcocks. This arrangement represents one in the Series of Band Arrangements compatible with David Willcocks' Carols for Choirs.

Glorioso was commissioned by, and is dedicated to, the Siena Wind Orchestra. The work opens after a short aleatoric intro, with an energetic and brassy one tone fanfare. The note F acts as an omnipresent note, and is also used as a bridge into the second, rather static movement. A noble sounding theme leads to an impressive climax, shortly followed by the spectacular and virtuoso finale, which is built on the musical elements that have been heard before. Stylistically, this sparkling finale is clearly influenced by Dmitri Shostakovich, hence the use of the famous signature used by the Russian Master: C, D, E flat, B (or C flat). Today, building walls remains an issue, often under the pretext of 'protection' against intruders. This idea inspired Otto M. Schwarz to write a piece about the Roman limes between Germania and Rhaetia. From around 150 to 260 AD the wall faced numerous attacks. This programmatic work describes the events as they happened a long time ago, and addresses hope that these events belong to the past forever. Visions is one of John Rutter's most recent compositions (2016). It was written for violin solo, treble voice choir, strings and harp. This arrangement maintains the violin solo as an option, but it is presented as a flute (and optionally with a movement for alto flute) solo with band. The vocal parts are included as an option, but the arrangement is also scored so that it may be performed without the treble choir. Visions is a tribute to Jerusalem, with the four movements titled: 1. Jerusalem the blessed; 2. Arise, shine; 3. Lament for Jerusalem; 4. Finale: The holy city. A showcase for the soloist, the depth of meaning and feeling in this music will make it an important addition to the repertoire of the Concert/Wind Band.
