This piece was composed in the summer of 2000, on commission of the Whightull Wind Ensemble. Seaside Road is a march in two-four time. The work begins with a tempestuous sound, followed by a light passage. Featuring, amongst others, your Bass Clarinet and Euphonium soloists in the trio section, the work builds towards an agile tutti before concluding with a powerful closing section. Gounod's Faust is primarily known for its lovely melodies and its beautifully expressive vocal parts and subtle orchestrations. One of the high points of this opera is doubtless this impressive Cavatina ("Salut, demeure chaste et pure"). Wil van der Beek has arranged the Cavatina with the euphonium as solo instrument.

£144.99Andante & Rondo - Antonio Capuzzi
Antonio Capuzzi (August 1, 1755 - March 28, 1818) was an Italian violinist and composer who studied violin with Nazari and composition with Bertoni. In 1805 he moved to Bergamo, where he was professor of violin at the Instituto Musicale and leader of the orchestra at Teatro Riccardi. He was highly regarded there both as a teacher and a performer. Although popular in his day, most of his music is now forgotten; his most commonly performed piece today is the Concerto for Double Bass. All of Capuzzi's known compositions were written during his Venetian years. It was in Venice that Capuzzi became close friends with Domenico Dragonetti, Beethoven's virtuoso bassist. It isspeculated that Capuzzi wrote his Concerto for Double Bass for Dragonetti. Gerald Oswald has made a fine arrangement of the second (Andante) and third (Rondo) movements of the concerto to feature either euphonium or tuba with concert band. The solo part is also available in an edition with piano accompaniment.

The Orchestracomposition required is: 2 Flutes, 2 Oboes, 2 Bassoons, 2 small Clarinets, Clarinet I, Clarinet II, 1 Bass Clarinet, 2 Alto Saxophones, 2 Tenor Saxophones, 1 Baritone Saxophone, 4 Horns, 4 Bb or C Trumpets, 4 Trombone or 3Trombone and an Euphonium, 1 Bb or C Bass, 1 Double Bass, 1 Harp, Timpani, Drum and a Celesta. It is divided into three parts: I. "Allegro ma non troppo", is strongly rhythmic and syncopated.Itincludes a Cadenza by the Solo Saxophone and is written as a tribute to Jazz music. II. "Andante", also includes a Cadenza by the Solo Saxophone but at the end of the section. It is reminiscent of slowerblues ballads. III. This part features few sections by the Solo Saxophone but is specially highlighted its ending, in a bright and fast finale. This volume features the score and parts for all theinstruments. Born in France in 1932, Roger Boutry received numerous prizes, including those for Piano, Composition and Conducting. He received the Grand Prix de Rome in 1954. His career was quite successful,alternating between Harmony professor, composer and conductor. He also received numerous prizes for his incredible compositions.
