Festival Signation is an opening piece, suitable for the beginning of a concert, or start of a second half. It begins with a majestic fanfare with powerful chords in the brass, and light motives in the winds. (The fanfare can also be played separately!!) It is followed by an andante espressivo with a melody in the euphonium and 1st horn. After a trumpet solo, the theme is played by the whole orchestra, with support from the percussion. The piece ends with the same opening fanfare.

£128.80Meet the Ernest Twins - Andrew Pearce
Andrew Pearce was commissioned to score a short film for some student filmmakers in London. The quirky, bizarre and comedic subject of their film (featuring a pair of elderly and enterprising twin brothers) required a lively and cartoon-like score to match their performances. Pearce felt the music was strong enough to be revised and released beyond the film. This suite of selected music cues should appeal to more advanced ensembles featuring solo winds, brass and percussion. The suite is book-ended by the memorable main title theme.

It starts with a percussion section and trumpet solo, to mark the beginning of a voyage through the band's experiences, from the orchestration to the musical set pieces used.

The chorale "Mach mit mir, Gott, nach deiner Gut", BWV 377, inspired a magnificent piece of music in which all the instrumental sections of the orchestra shine. The composer uses traditional techniques such as the fugato and the chorale. With lots of percussion and epic themes, this masterpiece is a perfect opening number.

"The Polka'phone" is a jolly little xylophone duet inspired by traditional polka music. The duet fits every occasion and suits young percussion players. The piece can also be performed by one soloist, using the Xylophone 1-part.The Xylophone 1-part can be played one octave up if the players use the same instrument during the performance.

£149.40Joyful Life - Jerker Johansson
When Jerker Johansson in the 80's started to compose he was for a while obsessed with writing music in odd time signatures, more specifically 7/8. He was asked during the fall of 2020 by Leif Karlsson (former member of the legendary percussion ensemble Kroumata and nowadays conductor) to write something challenging for Uppsala Blsarsymfoniker and this resulted in Joyful Life. The piece is, to say the least, difficult to tap the pulse along to and is something of a baptism of fire for the musicians, regarding rhythmic precision. Joyful Life is dedicated to the always likeable Leif Karlsson (Joyful Leif!) and was premiered on the 15th November 2020 by The Swedish Air Force Band under the baton of the composer.

"Sabor Caribeo" means "Taste of Caribbean". This original composition is written by Norwegian composer Sverre Indris Joner who has studied Caribbean music since mid-80s.The music presents traditional elements from Cuban and Puerto Rico. Polyrhytmics is an important part of the music which consist of up to four melody lines at the same time.It's recommended that both conductor and the percussionists study the rhythm patterns very closely. Especially congas and timbales which vary patters a lot. The role of the guiro must not be underrated.It is possible to simplify the percussion parts by choosing some patterns and play these for longer periods than written.
