Quando, Quando, Quando - Tony Reins

The song was originally with Italian lyrics, recorded by Tony Renis and Emilio Pericoli in 1962. American entertainer Pat Boone recorded the song the same year, with English lyrics; "Tell Me When Will You Be Mine". The song is one of the best-selling singles of all time. It has been used by many artists and in many different arrangements, including Engelbert Humperdinck in 1968, Connie Francis in 1963, Michael Bubl in 2005. "Quando, Quando, Quando" is arranged in a samba rhythm style, and gives an opportunity to add some Latin hand percussion to the group, such as Chocalho (shaker), Cabasa, Tamborim (Hand Drum), Agogo bells, etc.

The Golden Knights - Alice Gomez

Written as a tribute to the Army Paratrooper team, this tuneful, mid-tempo march contains interesting parts for each section, with a short drum break before the trio that makes the piece a good choice for a little feature for the percussion section as well.

We Be Jammin - Steve Hodges

Here is an opportunity for the young band to experience elements of reggae music. Percussion and bass sections lay down a strong groove while woodwinds and brass add characteristic off-beat accompaniment patterns and alaid-back melody. A great teaching tool to introduce this style of music.

    Ritmico - James Barnes

Ritmico is a dynamic contest style overture that joins florid melodic writing with a pulsing percussion and driving bass lines. Cast in ABA form, the main vivace theme gives way to a lyrical cantabile middle section, eventually leading towards a recapitulation of the main theme. In this final section, the melody and accompaniment figures return with an energetic counterpoint woven in, building towards an exciting and dramatic finish to the piece. This is an ideal closer or opener, perfectly suited for medium to advanced ensembles. (Grade 4)

Barnum and Bailey's Fractured Favorite - Karl L. King

When Karl King was conducting circus bands, he would frequently edit his marches so the same composition could be used for contrasting acts (for example a lion act one time, and a trapeze act the next). In the same spirit, Thomas Leslie has creatively repurposed this familiar march to suit an imaginary clown act; complete with novelty percussion sounds and a few surprises sprinkled in. A bit outrageous, but definitely fun! Dur: c. 2:20
