In the Berlin City Palace in 1701 a room was constructed with walls decorated with amber, at the command of the first Prussian King, Friedrich I. In 1716 Friedrich gave the room to the Russian Tsar, Peter the Great, who displayed it in the Catharina Palace in St Petersburg. During the Second World War it was looted by the Germans and brought to Konigsberg. Since then the Amber Room has vanished from the face of the earth, and there are many speculations and theories over what may have happened to it...

Johan Wichers, who was also known as The March King, was a trumpeter in the band in Nordhorn from 1905. Although he had no formal musical training, he managed to become a famous composer of marches. His march compositions were often based on his personal experiences. He wrote the "Mars der Medici" to thank the doctors who had cared from him during a long recovery in hospital. "Mars der Medici" may even have the right to be called a "hit". On YouTube it has been played hundreds of thousands of times, in its many different versions.

"From Both Sides Now", written in 1967, is one of the most famous songs by Canadian singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell. A novel by Saul Bellow, "Henderson the Rain King", was her inspiration to write the song. She has recorded the song twice: first in 1969 on the album "Clouds" and again in 2000 on the album "Both Sides Now". The latest recording feature a more orchestrated, jazz-inspired version of the song. This arrangement is written in "quasi-tango" style.
