Belkis, Regina di Saba II - Ottorino Respighi
In 1931 Ottorino Respighi began composing the music for his most ambitious theatre work: Belkis, regina di Saba. The ballet describes the journey of Belkis, the Queen of Sheba, to Solomon, the King of Israel, with whom she was in love. She travels with a large caravan including elephants, camels, slaves and many valuable treasures, through the desert. Kimura has arranged this colourful Oriental suite for wind band.

One of the most recent versions recorded of this is from 2008, with Natalie Cole singing a virtual duet with her father, Nat King Cole, who made the song a hit more than 50 years earlier, in 1952. The song was composed in 1930 by Roy Turk and Fred E. Ahlert, two famous songwriters in the big band, swing and jazz music of the time. Oh Carol is an American song written by Neil Sedaka about his then girlfriend Carole Klein, who later called herself Carole King. The song was co-written with Howard Greenfield. Sedaka also recorded a Hebrew-language version, written by Chaim Kaynan.
