His two part concert piece for symphonic band 'Aspectes' was very successful at the 1998 international contest 'Certamen' at Valencia. The first part 'Antigua danza de palas y planchas' (old dance with sticks and plates) starts with an introductory adagio followed by a lively allegretto interrupted by another quiet adagio. The second part 'La Romeria' (the pilgrimage ) starts with a dynamic allegro vivo followed by a lyrical andante introduced by bell ringing.The driving allegro vivo starts again when the pilgrims start their journey back home. The orchestration is strikingly refined. This is a very beautiful melodic concert piece for symphonic band.
