The well-known chorale Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland (Let the Earth Now Praise the Lord) was written by Martin Luther in 1524 and derives from a translation of a hymn from the 4th century before Christ. The melody was composed by JohannWalter, however Johann Sebastian Bach used it as a basis for many cantatas. This arrangement by Jacob de Haan gives your band the chance to perform an attractive version of this beautiful chorale.

Monterosi is a village in the Italian province of Viterbo in the Lazio region. This work is dedicated to the Accademia Musicale Francigena in Monterosi, on the occasion of the third 'Tommaso Albani' a national concert band competition at which the composer is often an adjudicator and guest conductor. It is a solemn piece, with lyrical tendencies, which demonstrates the glorious, full sound of the concert band.

Bliss: Impressions of a Village contains three impressions of a village in the beautiful Brabant province in the Netherlands. The fi rst movement is in a very 'classical style' and, appropriately, captures the village's history. Saxophones and a glockenspiel follow the path of a small, playful river. The entire band join in as the small river approaches an ancient castle. The third movement contains lots of interesting rhythms portraying the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the village.

En 1724, Jean-Sbastien Bach composait une cantate, fonde sur le choral du mme nom de Martin Luther. Viterbo shares its name with a province located in the Latium region of Italy. Its landscape, a mixture of fl atland, rolling hills and lakes, contains many artefacts of the Roman Empire as well as the preceding Etruscancivilization. This area provided inspiration for Viterbo, written for the 50th anniversary of the orchestra in the town of Monterosi, Viterbo.
