In Theme Park Fun! your orchestra pays a visit to an amusement park. During your visit, you will experience some spectacular rides and attractions this theme park offers. Animations and illustrations support the visual composition.Part 1: The Entrance & Parade [with animation]The opening of the park is a fact. A day full of fun and pleasure awaits! You and the other visitors willbe confronted with all the rides, attractions and adventures the theme park has to offer. Which ride shall we do first?! There is so much to do and experience on this day in the park! A parade of colorful floats and park figures is passing by.Letthe fun begin!Part 2: The Haunted House [with animation]The only ride in the park that is not related to fun, is the Haunted House. Here visitors will be challenged to visit a house full of ghosts, creepy figures and otherominous things. The clock strikes twelve, there is no turning back. Ghosts are whispering, yelling, screaming... Fortunately it is almost one oclock, so we can leave this creepy place quickly.Part 3: The Swinging Galleon [withillustrations]What a huge pirate ship! Each time you swing back and forth, you will feel that weird feeling in your stomach. When you are thrown completely into the top you will have a fantastic view over the park, but you can not enjoy itfor long. Before you know the ship swings back the other way.Part 4: The Fairy Tale Ride [with illustrations]After all those exciting and spectacular rides and attractions, it is time for a peaceful tour in The Fairy Tale Ride.Surrounded by a fairytale setting, you will discover fable figures, talking animals and colorful designs. Such a beauty and tranquility. Having had this experience, we are ready again for the big rides in the park!Part 5: The Bumper Cars[with illustrations]Now its time to crawl behind the wheel of the Bumper Cars! Shall we all chase the conductor?! Before you know you are hit by another visitor or you will bump against someone else. In this tough ride you can prove yourselfas a real driver, or perhaps as a really bad one.Part 6: The Roller Coaster [with illustrations]The largest, fastest and scariest ride in the park ... we should definitely do the Roller Coaster! All together in the train, theover-the-shoulder restraints are lowering... be ready to ride. The train leaves the station and is heading for the big lift hill. It will be very scary when the train reaches the top and the train will be plunged down the first drop! Loops,corkscrews and other spectacular coaster elements will follow... Before you know it, the ride of your life is over. Shall we ride it again?!Part 7: Leaving the Park [with animation]Unfortunately everything comes to an end. Thisday in the theme park is over, but we have a lot new experiences to talk about! The memories of all the funny and spectacular rides will come up when we walk through the park to the exit. Just one look over the shoulder, the amusement park figuresare waving at us. Hopefully we will come back again soon!

The idea for Sdwind Overture arose during dinner with the conductor Werner Buchmann and a few members of his band. Ferrer Ferran accepted the commission to write the work and asked Mr. Buchmann jokingly to sing him a motif offive notes that would serve as the leitmotif of the composition. Starting from these five notes (Ab, B, D#, E, F), the composer has created Sdwind Overture - the result is a fantastic musical achievement that shows a great senseof imagination. Dur: 7:00

Mussorgsky wrote 'Pictures at an Exhibition' after visiting an exhibition of paintings by his late friend Viktor Hartmann in 1874. This sixteen part suite is extremely well suited to be performed by a symphonic band: after a series of nice solo passages the work ends with a fantastic apotheosis 'The Great Gate of Kiev'.

Balkan Blues is music from the musical Bergets Hjrta (the Heart of the Mountain), which was a cooperative production between Norrbotten Big Band and Norrbottens Teatern, 1997 in Lule in the north of Sweden.Balkan Blues is music whichrelates to the historical railway life in the beginning of the 20th century when the railroad, Ofotenbanan, between Kiruna in Sweden and Rombaksbotn in Norway was built.Balkan Blues is inspired by the fantastic and exciting life includingpeople from all over Europe trying to find their fortune in the village Rombaksbotn, in the venue of the railroad working site of the Ofotenbanan.

"My Fantastic Gramps" is a bubbly piece about an old man.The style of playing must be fresh and youthful throughout the piece.Watch the balance in bar 12. 1st flute (piccolo) and 1st alto sax should be prominent in the balance.At bar 28 and equivalent bars, the flutes and clarinets(!) should be playing vibrato.Please make sure that trumpets play the articulation (short) excessively at bar 70 (banjo-style). Feel free for some slapstick-mood at bar 86. Be creative!The style at bar 115 must be outgoing and happy, with a lot of joyfulness!

Fantaia in G Major - Johann Sebastian Bach
A true wind band classic is presented here with a new recording and transcription as a refresher for experienced band directors and as an introduction to new band directors. It was made famous by Fredrick Fennell in his recordings with the Cleveland Winds, along with countless other fantastic performances and recordings over the years. Originally written for organ, this transcription stays very true to the original intent. One can practically hear the registration changes of the organ when playing this well-written standard in the wind band repertoire.

Where Eagles Sing - Paul Lovatt-Cooper
The inspiration for this piece came when the composer visited Florida and the Bird Sanctuary in Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom. He was in the audience to see the rare bird's show where he witnessed some fabulous looking and endangered birds that were trained to perform different tricks that wowed the audience. The highlight for him was the conclusion of the show where the most awesome sight greeted us as an American Bald Eagle soared over the audience. That particular breed of Eagle has been a very rare bird of late. With so few in numbers, it nearly became a member of the sad group of animals that are extinct.The host of the show took great delight in informing the audience that the fantastic creature is now officially safe and no longer classed as endangered. This made a great impact on the composer as the Eagle is an amazing bird, huge in size and power and yet so graceful in flight. This piece is everything associated with the Eagle; bold, powerful and graceful and now free to soar and sing in the American homelands.Where Eagles Sing has been hugely successful as a curtain-raiser (or finale) with brass bands around the world and it is hoped that this version for wind band will be just as popular.
