£47.52On A Snowy Winter's Eve
Soaring lines in the brass and woodwinds contrast the soft opening and closing textures of an exceptionally well-scored work; this beautiful chorale paints a picture of a solemn winter snowfall. A key change from F to Ab builds the piece to a dramatic musical climax and ultimately a soft and hushed conclusion. An excellent teaching piece for lyrical phrasing techniques.

£30.69Trumpets a la King (Concert Band - Score and Parts)
Starting out Grandioso, "West Hills'' soon moves into a bright section which is full of excitement. A slow 3/4 section allows the woodwinds to come to the forefront with some beautiful and expressive lines that require some independence between the woodwind voices. A return to a bright tempo brings the composition to a very rewarding climax.

£93.10Impressions from a Journey (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Stahli, Urs
I'm in the mountains... in Switzerland - in the Valais - on the Riederalp. I'm enjoying the view of the surrounding mountain peaks on this late summer afternoon.A alphorn plays a melody. The echo comes back once, twice, no, three times from the mountain slopes! It's getting dark. The melody of the evening blessing from Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel comes to mind. It is night.A new day begins! I make my way to Riederfurka, to Villa Cassel. There I am greeted by the sound of the orchestra. I enjoyed the music and my lunch. In the afternoon, the musicians invited me to a dance. As waltzing is not really my thing, I walk on to the Riederhorn. There I enjoy the wonderful view! I am happy!- Urs SthliDuration: 8.00

£137.99A Little Klezmer Suite (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Sparke, Philip
A Little Klezmer Suite was commissioned by Rushton Park High School to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their band programme. They gave the premiere in a virtual online concert in October 2020. Klezmer music originated in the shtetl (villages) and the ghettos of Eastern Europe, where itinerant Jewish troubadours, known as klezmorim, had performed at celebrations, particularly weddings, since the early Middle Ages. Klezmer is a Yiddish term combining the Hebrew words kley (instrument) and zemer (song). The roots of the style are found in secular melodies, popular dances, Jewish hazanut (cantorial music) and also the nigunim, the wordless melodies intoned by the Hasidim (orthodox Jews). The melodies used in the four movements of A Little Klezmer Suite have traditionally been used in Jewish wedding ceremonies and celebrations. Duration: 7.45

£60.99A Caribbean Sailing Trip (Flexible Ensemble - Score and Parts) - Schaars, Peter Kleine
With this composition in a rumba style, Peter Kleine Schaars invites us to enjoy a relaxed sailing trip in the waters of the Caribbean. The feeling of freedom on the boat is mirrored by an extensive melody surrounded by a palette of colourful harmonies the shades of the water while the clever percussion sets the course of the ship. Who wouldn't dream of such an adventure? Although the musical themes and accompaniments have been constructed from combinations of rhythmic cells that occur less often, the composition sounds very natural and flowing. Assuming the rhythmic cells 1 to 8 are part of the basic skills of your band, in this composition, the accent rather lies on cells 9 to 13. The instrumentation is created in such a way that these new cells occur in all parts, so that all musicians of the band become familiar with this rhythmic development.Duration: 2.30

£104.00A Future Celebration (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Houben, Kevin
Future Celebration was composed on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Royal Socialist Wind Band 'De Toekomst' from Sint-Niklaas (Belgium). In this colourful compostion Kevin Houben succeeds in evoking the bustling textile and cigar industry of the nineteenth and twentieth century in this East Flemish city Sint-Niklaas. After all, these crafts were characteristic for the wealth they brought to the city. Still testimony of this are the 2 unique (niche)museums in Sint-Niklaas: the Knitwear museum and the Pipe and Tobacco museum. Even in times of great crises eg. during the Interbellum the city continued flourishing proving the unique collection of classified art deco houses, amongst others the former People's House, in which the Royal Socialist Wind Band still rehearse. This historic background of Sint-Niklaas and of the Wind Band in particular has been musically presented by Kevin Houben in Future Celebration. The brief, but energetic and powerful opening of the work by the brass instruments gives musical expression to Sint-Niklaas as a prosperous city. After the presentation of a majestic and lyrical theme by the woodwinds an allegro with a cheerful theme takes a look at the future, hopefully looking at the next milestones/ celebrations the city and its orchestra are still expecting in the future.
