Monsters, Unite! (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Dugger, Kelly

Monsters, Unite! by Kelly Dugger is a fun beginning band piece that is sure to be a hit, not only at Halloween time but all year round. Monsters all around the world are waking up to a calling to unite. Some are big, hairy creatures, and others are delicate and fairy-like. They walk and fly long distances to find each other. In the end, they all come together, marching as one. Just when you think they've marched off into the distance, they come together to surprise the audience. Unique percussion effects, timpani glissando and theremin (or flexatone) add to the spooky sound. A tuba solo at the end is followed by a surprising scream that will leave the performers and the audience giggling! Duration: 1.30

Mont Blanc (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Schwarz, Otto M.

With its height of 4,808 meters, Mont-Blanc is called the roof of Europe. The highest mountains on our planet have been insurmountable for a long time. Only in the past 250 years have those giants been mounted. Crystal-hunter Jacques Balmat and Michel-Gabriel Paccard, a doctor, were the first to climb Mont-Blanc, in 1786. Many paths lead to Mont-Blanc's peak: the regular ascent goes through the magnificent voie royale of Saint-Gervais-les- Bains, which was opened in August 1855 by the Englishmen Hudson, Kennedy, and Smythe. Today's most common route to climb up, starting from Saint-Gervais via Aiguille du Gouter (3,863m), Dome du Gouter (4,304m), and Arete des Bosses (4,547m), was first used in 1861. Otto M. Schwarz composed this work inspired by the roof of Europe with its luminous and huge glaciers. Early in the morning, mountain-climbers set off to the peak; they witness the sunrise, and experience the hazards that the journey up to the summit brings along. A snowstorm and falling rocks at Arete des Bosses aggravate their journey. A sudden change of weather, however, enables them to reach the top after a strenuous ascent. This piece invites you to an imaginary journey from Saint-Gervais-les-Bains via the voie royale to the top of Mont-Blanc.Duration: 6.45

Montana Fanfare (Concert Band - Score and Parts)

This piece was composed as a birthday present for the Austrian conductor Walter Rescheneder to acknowledge the strong support he has given to the composer, Thomas Doss. Doss drew the inspiration for this fanfare from a mountain hike in the Salzkammergut. A powerful fanfare reveals enthusiasm and triumph. It is an exulting feeling and gives boundless freedom to look down into the depths from high up giving a view of the stunning landscape. The main melodic theme represents the feeling of vastness one experiences by taking just one quick glance into the distance. A musical treat! 03:50

Montana Visions (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - O'Reilly, John

Montana Visions is a three movement suite that musically depicts cowboy life in Big Sky country. The piece opens with Cattle Drive, a syncopated and energetic representation of cowboys as they dance their synchronised ballet of guiding their herd to its final destination. At the end of the day, Campfire provides moments of reflections as the embers glow and smoke rises to meet the blazing stars of the Big Sky. A spirited Big Sky Rendezvous brings the piece to a rousing conclusion as the cowboys, fur trappers, and native people meet at the end of the journey to let off some steam in a glorious mix of business and bedlam.Duration 9:30
