This stunning work celebrates the men and women, past and present, who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Jerry Brubaker was the Chief Music Arranger with the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C. Using mostly original material, Brubaker uses snippets of the various U.S. Armed Forces anthems to bring this wonderful tribute to life. The primary melody of Proudly They Served is singable, respectful, and memorable. The tune comfortably welcomes segments of all the major service songs as they make their appearance throughout. Where in the galaxy, other than Earth, could human life survive? Proxima B may be the answer to this cosmic question. The planet orbits the red dwarf star Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our Sun. First discovered in 2016, NASA says, The exoplanet is at a distance from its star that allows temperatures mild enough for liquid water to pool on its surface. Journey over four light years to the twin star system of Alpha Centauri in Proxima B, by Steven J. Pyter. Hear and feel the excitement and danger of traveling beyond our solar system in this sci-fi-inspired, cinematic-style concert work that is sure to capture the imagination of performers and audiences! Psalm 150 (Concert Band with Optional Choir - Score and Parts) - Rutter, John - Noble, Paul

Psalm 150 was composed for the Golden Jubilee Service for HM The Queen, 4 June 2002. With the premiere performance in St. Paul's Cathedral, London, the composer wanted to capture the acoustical qualities of the cathedral by placing three soprano soloists high in the dome, from which they sang as a trio at key points in the music. This arrangement, when performed by Concert Band alone, has those parts written for three solo trumpets to be placed in the rear or balcony of the concert hall. The work is filled with pageantry and ceremony, ending with the sound of cathedral bells ringing dramatically over the powerful scoring for band.

Psalm 46 (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Zdechlik, John

Psalm 46 is based upon the chorale melody from A Mighty Fortress is our God, the best known Martin Luther hymn which was composed sometime between 1527 and 1529. The hymn's words paraphrase Psalm 46. Zdechlik's setting is divided into four major sections with a wide variety of styles and meters that draw to a powerful heroic conclusion. The work, originally published in 1971, is dedicated to Mr. Leon Titus and the Concordia College Band, St. Paul, Minnesota.Duration: 9:30

Psaltrada (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - De Haan, Jan

The title of this piece gives a clue as to how it came about: Jan de Haan took the setting of psalm 149 from the Geneva Psalter of 1562 and created from this simple, beautiful melody a glorious, lively opening work for concert band. So it was that from a psalm and an intrada (prelude) a Psaltrada was born - for you to begin your next concert in splendid fashion.Duration: 1:45

Psyche et Eros (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Franck, Cesar - Cesarini, Franco

Cesar Franck, composer, pianist, organist and music teacher, completed Cupid and Psyche, his sixth and last symphonic poem in 1887. It was first performed in Paris in 1888 and was a complete success, but the piece later fell completely into oblivion, and it was only thanks to some meticulous research that it has returned to concert halls. The intricate love affair between Psyche and Cupid is an original story of the Metamorphoses, written in the 2nd century AD by Apuleius. The tale is about overcoming obstacles in love and their final union. The symphonic poem is divided into three parts and calls for a choir. The movement that is the subject of this arrangement, Psyche et Eros, is positioned at the end of the second part. Franco Cesarini's version for wind orchestra carefully illustrates the nuances of the instrumental colours, and represents a real test aimed at demonstrating the musicality and interpretative skills of orchestras and their conductors. Bernard Herrmann's distinctive film score is an integral part of this Hitchcock classic thriller. Jay's authentic adaptation for concert band of this familiar theme is very effective (and scary).
