Forever Free - Kenneth Fuchs

Commissioned to celebrate the sesquicentennial of the state of West Virginia, Forever Free incorporates indigenous elements of the state's musical heritage, capturing a robust and celebratory spirit. Cast in a single movement inthree sections, the title is inspired by the state motto, Montani semper liberi (Mountaineeers forever free). The work is unified at the outset and closing by a ceremonial fanfare that is based on thematic figures from the statesong West Virginia Hills. A contrasting middle section features a lyric variant accompanied by a militaristic snare drum and timpani cadence, before all thematic elements are combined for the buoyant and festive conclusion. Forevermore - Chris Bernotas

A quiet, stately theme opens Forevermore, building and adding layers of lush harmonics. Once the table is set, Bernotas shifts gears to a punchy, rhythmic interplay, using 5/8 and 7/8 time changes that just work. The final section is tight, percussive, and brilliant.

Forevermore - Christina Huss

Dedicated to her graduating senior class, Forevermore by composer Christina Huss is a heartfelt and meaningful new addition to the band repertoire. A wonderful introduction to lyrical playing, this piece would work well as a tribute piece or on any program.

Forevermore - Thomas Doss

The work Forevermore was commissioned for a wedding; it describes the themes of friendship, partnership, and loyalty. One of the most beautiful things in life is going through it together and maintaining the bond of love forever. This solemn work opens with warm woodwind sounds and a soft percussion accompaniment, followed by a build-up to a colourful tutti passage. After a gentle middle section, a grand tutti sound develops again, but the work finally ends in an almost intimate atmosphere.
