Forest Morning - David Gorham

This work was commissioned by the Altus, Oklahoma band program in memory of Angelique Mitchell. It begins with a plaintive, wistful melody in the clarinets and alto saxophones, who are joined later by the cornets and trumpets.

Forest of Tranquility - Randy Navarre

Forest of Tranquility is our newest work in our very beginning band series. Like all of our compositions in this performance level, your students can play this within the first few months of study. Thus, getting in a very early concert and keeps kids in the band program. This is a gentle sounding song starting in a minor mode, moving to its relative major and back to minor, a sound not often heard for a beginning band at this level. Clarinets do not cross the break. The 1st trumpet's highest note is Bb.

Forever Climbing - Larry Clark

Forever Climbing was written as tribute to the loss of a high school band student that was tragically killed in a rock climbing accident. It is not intended as a sad piece, but as a celebration of the life of this exceptional young man. At times the piece is contemplative, but also contains a joy that is to depict the way he lived. As the piece builds to its conclusion, the listener will have a sense of fulfillment in a life well lived, even though it was cut short. A moving new addition to the band repertoire.

Forever Free - Kenneth Fuchs

Commissioned to celebrate the sesquicentennial of the state of West Virginia, Forever Free incorporates indigenous elements of the state's musical heritage, capturing a robust and celebratory spirit. Cast in a single movement inthree sections, the title is inspired by the state motto, Montani semper liberi (Mountaineeers forever free). The work is unified at the outset and closing by a ceremonial fanfare that is based on thematic figures from the statesong West Virginia Hills. A contrasting middle section features a lyric variant accompanied by a militaristic snare drum and timpani cadence, before all thematic elements are combined for the buoyant and festive conclusion. Firm friendship was the inspiration for the composer whilst writing Friends Forever. Flowing melodic lines create a warm, relaxed atmosphere.

Forever Holding Close The Memories - Richard L. Saucedo

Composed as a celebration of life in memory of a beloved teacher, this tender and heartfelt tone poem is very melodic and tuneful in nature. It focuses on a series of soloistic woodwind lines interspersed with richly scoredemotional swells and sustained passages for the brass. Dur: 4:30
