From the renowned composer Alfred Reed comes this unique musical panorama. An original work, it explores the theater overture style as one of the important musical styles to emerge in the 20th century. Written for the Wheaton, Illinois Municipal Band's 60th anniversary, this single movement work includes six sections: Opening Fanfare, Bright Two-Step, Romantic Ballad, Soft Shoe Novelty, Latin Production Number, and Jazz/Rock Finale.

Custom Ballad - Peter Kleine Schaars

This is the fourth movement of the five-part suite 'Nomenclatura' commissioned by the Dutch Customs Band 'Douane Harmonie Nederland'. This movement is a quiet ballad, that could be considered as a quiet moment in the suite, introduced by the woodwinds (especially the English horn) and melodic percussion whereafter the trumpet, the horn and the saxophone sections join, before the lower brass and percussion completes the group.A fine tune and a well-balanced orchestration are the biggest assets of this nice ballad.

This funky rock-chart is composed by Larry Barton, a US composer living in Kentucky. This arrangement is made to feature two soloists, the Tenor Saxophone and the Tuba. The tuba-player can choose to play the solo-part on a Helicon or Sousaphone, that only adds more spice to the style! An alternative is to let the Baritone Saxophone play the bass-part.
