This gorgeous new work captures the quiet, natural elegance of the Cimarron Territory the present-day panhandle of the state of Oklahoma. After the melody is presented in a light orchestration, the rest of the group joins as the texture builds toward a magnificent key change. An ideal study in phrasing, musicality, and breath support, this easy lyrical piece is an ideal change of pace for your next concert.

Cimarron Trail - David Shaffer

A tremendous concert or contest piece that is also a wonderful teaching tool. Utilizing a variety of simple time changes, the opening moderato section leads into a spirited allegro that has nicely woven counterpoint between the woodwinds. A moderate 3/4 section adds contrast and then after a reprise of the allegro, it finishes with a bold and majestic coda. A winner in every respect!

Cin Cin - Piet Swerts

The champagne cellars of Mercier in Epernay were the source of inspiration for this composition. The title has been aptly chosen: Cin Cin means 'cheers' in Italian. The various themes and melodies refer to different aspects of the champagne production, and especially to the specific cellars of the Champagne region. A remarkable, sparkling composition. Cheers!
