Children's Oak - Thierry Deleruyelle

Children's Oak was commissioned by the wind band from Beauquesne, France. This solemn work pays homage to a city particularly affected by the two World Wars and is inspired by the knowledge that the city of Beauquesne needed to recover from these terrible episodes in its history. The title has its origin in the roots of the word "Beauquesne", the beautiful oak tree. It is a beautiful slow piece for your concert, or as a resource to work on phrasing and intonation, or alternatively as a warm up piece.

Chillers and Thrillers - John Williams

Among the countless memorable movie themes penned by John Williams over his illustrious film scoring career are some of the scariest and most ominous melodies ever written. From witches and devils to Darth Vader and Voldemort tofish with big teeth, this is music that makes us cringe in a darkened theater. This fabulous medley for band includes themes from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jaws, The War of the Worlds, Dracula and The Witches of Eastwick. (Leavethe lights on!)

The year 1951 was very productive for Leroy Anderson. For a recording project with Decca records in June of that year he composed a number of his most popular pieces, many of which were played for the first time in these sessions, including this delightful composition, China Doll. It's a great choice for any time of year, but is also an ideal substitute to the perennial holiday favorite, Sleigh Ride. This publication is the first-ever to offer a full score, edited by Mark Rogers.
