In Rob Goorhuis' composition the melody is initially played complete and in unison, after which the theme is reworked in various ways and in different time signatures. Town of the Seven Hills - Jacob de Haan

This 4-movement suite tells the story of the beautiful French town 'Tulle' that was built on seven hills, just like Rome and Lisbon. The composer depicts the history of the town, as well as important events such as the bloodbath during World War II, the fabric 'tulle' after which the town is named and the festive annual fair. Since Tulle is also known for the production of Accordions, the composer added an 'ad libitum' Accordion part. A really charming and stylish concert or contest work!

Townscape - Bald Wyntin

Townscape was composed for the centenary of the St. Cecilia concertband from Oudenburg, a town which also inspired the composer throughout this work. The first part depicts a train slowly approaching from afar and then vanishing into the distance again. This is rendered by a sort of repetitive pulse in the music. This is followed by some serious action with jet skis on the Sinnesael lake. Their spectacular twists and turns are transformed into an exuberant theme and a middle section with several changes of time signature. After that comes a restful, lyrical Nocturne, a musical painting of the mill at night. The work concludes with a lively finale that is an ode to dailylife in Oudenburg, a place where people take initiative and there is plenty to see and do.

Leopold Mozart (1719-1787), an Austrian composer-violinist of German extraction, was the father of the famous Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Leopold Mozart was a creditable composer in his own right, as the "Toy Symphony" amply demonstrates. Bo S. Aers has given the piece a more modern feel and we wonder what Leopold Mozart would make of it now...

Who has not played with toys as a child? While listening to this wonderful suite, your audience will regain their youthful memories by entering a world of fantasy and imagination with each movement representing a different toy. Dolls and Marionettes - the dolls are echoed in a cheerful tempo, and the marionettes in a waltz. The Doll House - slower and more cantabile. The Train - we hear the steam engine, the steam whistle and the buzz of a tour in the world of imagination. The Tin Soldier - we hear footsteps far off, coming closer, the rhythm of the drums, the energetic sound of the army. Dressed in uniforms and in straight lines, they march in a perfect rhythm. Make yourselffeel young once again with this great work.
