Transeamus usque Bethlehem - Joseph Schnabel

The German composer Joseph Ignaz Schnabel (1767-1831) was a descendant of a musical family. During his lifetime he occupied several musical posts including Violinist, Organist, Concertmaster, Conductor, Music Teacher and managing director of the Royal Institute for Church Music. Schnabel composed masses, hymns, vespers, military music and a clarinet concerto. His choir work Transeamus usque Bethlehem is still widely performed and Wil van der Beek has produced this excellent arrangement for concert band which does justice to the original.

Transfiguration - James Curnow

James Curnow explores many domains of sound with this wonderful piece. Four extensive variations, based on the melody of the hymn All Praise to You, Oh Lord, together form a beautiful piece of music for use in church services. The composer has a fresh view of the theme in the various fragments of the melody, from ethereal reflections to passionate joy. The last variation starts softly but energetically, and keeps developing using the last phrase of the melody - until the majestic highlight of this glorious hymn begins.

Transformation - Alan Menken

The 'Transformation' scene from Beauty and the Beast is one of the most impressive moments from the movie and a perfect example of how magical the combination of music and images can be. Marc Jeanbourquin has created a Grade 4 arrangement that is very close to the original score and sounds as if you are actually watching the movie. It is a little challenging, but guaranteed to have your audience on the edge of their seats!
