An Irish Farewell - Larry Daehn

The lovely old tune on which this composition is based is know by a variety of names: "Farewell! But Whenever You Welcome the Hour," "To Rodney We Will Go," and "Moll Roone."The "Andante e rubato" used from the outset of the piece, gives conductors as much freedom as they might desire. Wonderful lyrical writing and a beautiful tribute to that special someone.

An Irish Legend - Ed Kiefer

An Irish Legend contains original melodies in an Irish style, written to evoke the sounds of the emerald isle offereland. The piece is in traditional ABA form, beginning with a lilting Irish jig, then a more lyrical and slow second theme. After returning to the jig, it ends with a climactic section where both themes are played together. It sounds much more difficult than it plays. The piece is exciting and will be well within the capabilities of students at this grade level.

An Irish Lullaby - Stephen Bulla

What can be more charming than a comely Irish folk melody? This is music that allows the band to play in the rubato style, with much room for expression. Found in an old British publication and simply called "Irish Air," this endearing arrangement is a rhapsodic treatment that takes fragments of the melody and develops them into a large symphonic work. The freedom of tempi allows you to work with your band in a sensitively conducted way that only a beautiful piece like this will allow.There is always room on a concert program for at least one lush, melodic contrast piece. Perhaps this one is for you. It's so difficult to describe a thing of real beauty. Please listen tothe demo recording and hear it for yourself.

An Irish Medley

Three beloved Irish folk songs are presented in a new way of adding to the musical growth of the beginning player. The tunes included are "Londonderry Air", "The Rakes of Mallow" and "Cockels and Mussels". Through rich tonal colors and diverse moods the student is challenged to interpret these tender and sometimes lively melodies with a personal feeling. Exceptionally nice for this grade level!

An Irish Party in Third Class

An Irish Party In Third Class is the music taken from one of the most memorable moments in the motion picture Titanic - the Irish dancing scene in the steerage section of the ship. The music for this scene was provided by the group Gaelic Storm.Your concert band will love the energy of this version, which features the woodwind section throughout. This piece has been adapted by Richard Saucedo. The score and complete set of parts are included.
