The mysterious river Traun, which emerges from several springs in the Totes Gebirge (the so-called 'Dead Mountains') of Styria (Stiermarken-Austria), flows in full splendor and beauty through the loveliest lakes. The Traun meanders through the Salzkammergut like a crystal ribbon along the Ho llengebirge. This piece is like an exciting musical voyage along the river telling the story of a rich history, from the earliest Celtic settlements to the construction of important power plants. It offers different and versatile passages for all instrument groups, making Mystic River the ideal contest work or the main piece in a challenging concert programme.

Mndalen Landscapes - Philip Sparke

The picturesque town of Mandalen lies amid snow-covered mountains and scenic fjords on the west coast of Norway. MANDALEN LANDSCAPES was commissioned by and written for Mndalen Skule og Ungdomskorps (Mandalen School and Youth Band) for a major concert in November 2003 at the instigation of its conductor, John Hudson, a long-time friend of composer Philip Sparke.Sparke set out to capture the beauty of the area in music and the piece opens with an evocation of the crisp, clear air of a Norwegian morning. After this introduction, the main theme is stated on clarinets and saxophones. A central bridge section takes the listener through several moods until the brass reintroducethe main theme under a woodwind descant. Material from the introduction brings the work to a peaceful close.

M...NESKIN Greatest Hits

Mneskin is an Italian rock band that first set foot on the international stage in 2021, when it won the 65th Eurovision Song Contest with Zitti e buoni. 2021 was an excellent year for the group in more ways than one, since they were also declared best rock band at the MTV European Music Awards. More successes followed: their cover of the Four Seasons song Beggin' became a worldwide hit and even reached the American Billboard Hot 100, as well as the global Spotify hit list. The band's name was definitively established with songs like I Wanna Be Your Slave, The Loneliest and Supermodel. Markus Schenk has brought together all of these hits in a fantastic pop-rock medley for concert band. Sturdy music that is unsuitable for softies, but it will certainly go down well with the audience!
