Legend of BAFE is a dramatic work by John Fannin. It's driven by the musical letters that spell BAFE - B-flat, A, F, and E. Even a casual listening will reveal many of the ways the composer utilizes this four-note motif. All that aside, this is an enormously exciting piece.

Legend Of El Muerto - Roland Barrett

Based on a mid-1800s folk tale from "No Man's Land" in Texas, this engaging original composition captures the imagination, depicting sinister livestock rustling and even a little horse thievery. This compelling work uses shifting dynamics, an introduction to aleatoric notation to build the musical intensity, and a chance for one trumpet to depict the stolen horse's whinny. Legend Of Old Abe - James Curnow

Named after President Lincoln, Old Abe was a famous bald eagle who served as mascot for the 8th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. Legend of Old Abe is a marvelously descriptive work for young bands thattakes the listener on a journey of Old Abe's exploits. From a peaceful and serene opening the work progresses through the sounds of conflict and battle. The mood turns reflective and then triumphant as the music celebrates thisamazing true story.
