This jubilant composition is very challenging and powerful. Two principal themes are presented which develop through the use of varying accompaniments, ensemble timbres, rhythmic techniques and solo passages. A wonderful showcase for concert or festival use.

Galactic Conflict - Timothy Loest

This invigorating work makes great use of percussion. Reminiscent of Holst's famous portrayal of Mars, the driving rhythmic motif is immediately introduced with rhythmic hits reinforced in the upper brass and woodwinds. Several themes are layered for an effect that is easy to achieve with bands at this level. A brief lyrical section provides some creative harmonies which will help develop the musicianship of your band. The opening material then returns for a powerful conclusion. Highly recommended!

Galactic Episode takes the performer and listener on a musical journey through time and space, both externally and internally. Jay Coles, pours his energy into a piece that will grab the attention of your students and never let it go.

Galactic Guardians - Mark Lortz

Written for the Ridley Elementary School District bands, Theresa OBrien, director, and the Temple University Night Owls Concert Band, Dr. Deborah Confredo, director. Galactic Guardians depicts star warriors as they take part in an interstellar mission. The mysterious opening portrays the initial reconnaissance, then quickly moves to the star fighters blasting off into battle. Driving rhythms depict the twists and turns of a space battle with wild percussive accents providing flashing laser blasts. The piece then closes with the festive sounds of celebration as victory is proclaimed.

Galactic Nature - Victor Lopez

Galactic Nature, by Victor Lpez, for beginning band, is captivating and perfect for integrating music into cross-curricular studies. Inspired by the systems of stars and interstellar matter that make the universe, this composition provides an effective way of connecting music with celestial scientific concepts.

Galactic Quest - Guillaume Detrez

Inspired by various science fiction films, the piece "Galactic Quest" offers an original vision of Space and the elements that constitute it. Take-off, black holes, milky voice, encounter of the 3rd type... In the middle of the piece, a solo part is set up and can be played on the synthesizer or the trombone. This piece is a nod to Thomas Pesquet, French astronaut and also saxophonist with an alto saxophone solo in the penultimate part.
