March of the Tankmen - Simeon Chernetski

Composer Semeon Alexanderovich Chernetsky was born in 1881 and died in 1950. A trombonist and a composition student of Alexander Glazunov, he was also a prominent military bandmaster. He was named Director of the Band of the Soviet Army in 1932, and in 1935 he founded the Band of the Ministry of Defense. He composed over 70 marches including March of the Tankmen, which he wrote in 1946, as well as other works for band. The stately manner of this stirring march displays a profound sense of loyalty and national pride that is unmistakable.

March of the Tin Soldiers - Mark Syslo

March of the Tin Soldiers employs themes from Leon Jessels popular march, Parade of the Tin Soldiers. Originally composed for piano, it was later published for orchestra and gained international acclaim in Russia, France, and finally here in the United States on Broadway. Its probably best known for its use by the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes as part of their Christmas Spectacular in New York City. This well-written and approachable setting makes this popular march accessible for young band holiday programs.

March of the Toys - Victor Herbert

This Victor Herbert classic has been thoughtfully reimagined in this new arrangement for young band by Nathan Jones. Parts have been tailored to better suit the abilities of developing players, considering all aspects ofperformance including range, rhythms, time signature, key, and overall length while keeping the overall feeling and charm of this holiday favorite!
