March from The Sleeping Beauty - Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky

This esteemed Russian composer is universally recognized as both a master orchestrator and a master of ballet music. His music remains popular not only in the ballets themselves but also in the many dances and suites drawn from the scores. Tchaikovskys signature on the march form is found in many march settings, including this from The Sleeping Beauty. As the ballet opens, this resplendent march provides the grand entrance music into the regal court of King Florestan.

March Grandioso - Roland F. Seitz

March Grandioso, by the American composer/band leader Roland F. Seitz, is one of the most popular parade marches in America. It was written in 1901, and is one of over 50 marches that Seitz wrote between 1897 and 1930. The popular primary theme of the first half of this march is based on the fourteenth of Franz Liszts Hungarian Rhapsodies. This edition of the march for young bands is based on only the first half of the march.
