Percy Grainger's "Irish Tune from County Derry" is unquestionably one of the most beloved standards of the concert band repertoire. Rob Romeyn's brilliant arrangement for the Command series of this iconic work has been skillfully and carefully adapted to better fit the instrumentation of a smaller ensemble, thus allowing the piece to be performed effectively by many more bands who would otherwise not have the opportunity. All of Grainger's iconic melodic and harmonic lines and harmonic structure are present and left intact. This, we feel, will be a significant work for Wind Band as it has been for the brass band movement.
