This piece was composed as a birthday present for the Austrian conductor Walter Rescheneder to acknowledge the strong support he has given to the composer, Thomas Doss. Doss drew the inspiration for this fanfare from a mountain hike in the Salzkammergut. A powerful fanfare reveals enthusiasm and triumph. It is an exulting feeling and gives boundless freedom to look down into the depths from high up giving a view of the stunning landscape. The main melodic theme represents the feeling of vastness one experiences by taking just one quick glance into the distance. A musical treat!

Centerfold - Seth Justman
A 'centerfold' is a large photo that can be removed from the middle pages of a magazine. With their 1981 song Centerfold, which gave them a huge hit, the J. Geils band sang about an old flame who suddenly turns up on such a poster in a men's' magazine. Have a listen - you're sure to know it!

£137.99Hanover Festival - Philip Sparke
The Hanover Wind Symphony, New Jersey, USA was founded in 1984 by its conductor Peter Boor. He commissioned HANOVER FESTIVAL to celebrate the band's 15th Birthday and the first performance took place on October 27th 1999. The piece starts with a solemn brass fanfare. Woodwinds join in and the music subsides into an expressive chorale. A climax is reached and the fanfare returns. Trumpets introduce an explosive vivo section, characterised by an energetic theme from the horns and low clarinets. A bridge passage with strong brass chords leads to a playful section that introduces a legato central theme under woodwind figures. This is taken up by the full band, the playfulmusic returns and the original horn tune is reintroduced. Finally the opening fanfare returns, this time accompanied by music from the vivo section, until a fast and furious coda closes the work.

Made up of tightly woven riffs, El Muro suggests a variety of Latin American musical styles, from the Colombian cumbia, Peruvian huayno, Mexican son, and the Cuban montuno. Venezuelan-born composer Ricardo Lorenz personalizes these styles, incorporating them seamlessly without compromising the underlying musical logic of his work. Conceptually, the piece challenges the notion of both physical and imaginary walls which divide and oppress people.
