Haydn Trumpet Concerto (2nd Movement) (Trumpet Solo with Concert Band - Score and Parts)

Haydn's Trumpet Concerto is probably the most-performed trumpet concerto ever written. The second movement is known equally for both its beautiful melody and wonderful use of trumpet as a solo instrument. In this adaptation, the key is lowered to avoid the high notes of the original, sixteenth notes are eliminated by using a 3/4 time signature and difficult passages are simplified-making it ideal for younger soloists. Let your star trumpet player shine with this well-crafted adaptation of a repertoire standard.Duration: 4.00

TRUMPET CONCERTO (Richard Rodney Bennett) (Trumpet/Concert Band Extra Score)

Extra Score only. The work begins with a solemn declamatory cadenza for the soloist; a short interlude leads to an allegro with spiky cross-rhythms. A further cadenza ends the movement and links to the second, Elegy for Miles Davis (available separately), a deeply felt Ballad accompanied by electric bass and band with a central section for improvisation. The ensuing vivo starts with a bold statement by the trumpet with cross rhythms reminiscent of the opening allegro that extends into the band. It is interrupted by the declamatory cadenza material, the trumpet supported by the band and the movement ends with a molto vivo coda of tremendous energy. Duration: 19-20 mins.
