Euterpe - Ferrer Ferran
Music is an indispensable element in the lives of human beings. In nature, we see the essence of this principle reflected. Plato imagined the cosmos as a live animal: all parts are connected in harmony. From this point of view, the universe forms a large pentagram in which all notes flow together perfectly. This is confirmed around us every day. The twittering of a canary, the sputtering of fire, the sparkle of a waterfall pattering and falling on stones, the rattle of a snake that takes on a threatening attitude, or even the silence of the desert are expressions of Euterpe (the muse of music). Why not let your flautist shine with this major new solo work.

£76.80Young Maria/Coffee Serenade - Ted Huggens
This work breathes the cosy atmosphere of a coffee-party. This is why it will be very suited for Coffee-concerts. The solo part may be performed by tapping with a tea-spoon against a (preferably) porcelain coffee cup. /This work is based on the famous Ave Maria by Charles Gounod. In this version the commonly used accompaniment by J.S. Bach has been substituted by a completely different one. The percussion section should not be too dominating.

This tune was the closing music on the British comedy tv series, 'The Benny Hill Show', where the host was often on the run being pursued by cheated cast members, and was composed by the American saxophonist Boots Randolph. Concertino For Piccolo and Band - Samuel Pascoal
Concertino for Piccolo and Band is a work commissioned by and dedicated to Fernando Marinho. Attempts to portrait musically a little of what Fernando is... Energetic, always willing to do more and on the other hand, romantic and nostalgic. The Concertino starts with energetic and jolly themes. Recall the Iberian heritage, through the sorrow of romantic, beauty and nostalgia of the intangible. And ending again energetic and bright. This is Pascoals way of honoring this great friend and Portuguese musician.

£149.40Ragnarok Main Title - Magnus Torkehagen Beite
This is the main theme from the movie "Gten Ragnarock" (2013) superbly composed by Norwegian composer Magnus Beite. The music is narrative with long, melodic lines combined with a rhythmic drive. This arrangement tries to capture the symphonic expression from the original orchestral score. There are several unison lines. Intonation, balance and phrasing are important to make these sounding as good as possible. Clear articulation in the rhythmic passages are also important. The piece is very evocative and may fit very well into any concert program.

£70.00Castrum de Dune - Michael Klostermann
"Castrum de Dune" is an impressive work composed in 2021 to mark the acquisition of Dhaun Castle (Rhineland-Pfalz). Originally created as a fanfare and hymn for this ceremonial opening and premiered in a reduced instrumentation, the piece enjoyed considerable success. This inspired Michael Klostermann to orchestrate the composition for symphonic wind orchestra. The powerful fanfare opens the piece with striking, historically inspired sounds that musically reflect the Roman origins of the region. This is followed by a majestic hymn that vividly depicts the flight of an eagle soaring over the castle landscape in rich musical language. With the eagle's return, the fanfare resounds once more - familiar yet newly interpreted - leading the work to a harmonically complete and impressive finale."Castrum de Dune" combines historical elements with modern orchestral arrangements, creating a compelling musical experience that takes listeners on a brief journey through history and the majestic beauty of nature.

£119.00Heritage - Shawn E. Okpebholo
Shawn Okpebholo's Heritage, in the Edition Peters Concert Band Series, evokes moods, events and sounds (including West African drumming and indigenous melodies) from an ethnomusicological research visit the composer undertook to Nigeria. One of the primary musical themes of the work is an adaptation of a song that comes from the Esan people, a small ethnic group in the southern part of Nigeria and the tribe to which the composer has deep historical and family ties. The Esan language is poetic in nature and, at various moments in the work, the musicians chant the text from an Esan song: Ekine leleyea do obhimen la doeki nalo (My investment in you is paid off. Because of your hard work, your future is bright).Heritage is a revised version of a work previously entitled This is Africa, which was commissioned by Professor Marcellus Brown and the Boise State University Symphonic Winds for the 2011 National CBDNA Convention and is dedicated to the memory of Dr Harry Begian.

£106.99Desert Dances - Philip Sparke
Henderson is a city in Clark County, Nevada, just southeast of Las Vegas and surrounded by desert: this was the inspiration for the title. Desert Dances opens with a lively introduction, mostly in 3/4, which pervades the faster sections of the piece. This subsides to introduce a slower dance which expands to a full-band climax. The introduction soon returns and leads to the main theme of the piece, a waltz-like melody played by the full ensemble. A short bridge passage follows, which leads to a legato central theme. This is played twice and heralds the return of the main theme and a short coda which closes the work. An imaginative work for concert or contest with nice featuresthroughout all groups of the band.
