Trombone Concerto (Trombone Solo with Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Yagisawa, Satoshi

Satoshi Yagisawa's Trombone Concerto is both impressive and original at the same time. It features a slow-fast-slow structure with each movement being connected to the next. The second movement, with its rich choralelike writing, is especially noteworthy, bringing out the warmest and most delicate sounds of the trombone. Yagisawa also takes extreme care in how the soloist and band interact with each other, creating an unforgettable work!Duration: 15:00

Memories of the Past (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Yagisawa, Satoshi

This beautiful chorale was commissioned by the Temasek Junior College Alumni Band from Singapore and is dedicated to its conductor, Mr. Lin Ah Leck, who sadly passed away in 2019. The music pays homage to Maestro Lin-sheng, as he was affectionately called by the band members. Mr. Lin, a devotee of Yagisawa's music, selected many of his works for their concerts. Having visited Singapore many times, the composer has had the opportunity to listen to Mr. Lin and his band perform and was deeply moved by their expressive and warm performances, leading to him writing this chorale work about the 'eternal bond' between a teacher and his students. The world premiere of this piece in Singapore by the Temasek Junior College Alumni Band was titled Echoes of Temasek - In Memory of Meastro Lin-sheng. For this publication, it has been revised and retitled Memories of the Past.Duration: 5.00

Euphonium Concerto (Euphonium Solo with Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Yagisawa, Satoshi

This three-movement concerto (Allegro con brio, Espressivo and Vivacissimo) was commissioned by the famous Japanese euphonium player Tamao Araki. It demands a high level of instrumental proficiency from the soloist, while the accompaniment is less demanding and accessible for a band of an average level. Pandora's Box (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Yagisawa, Satoshi

Pandora's Box must by no means be opened. The Memory of Our Native Place Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)

Satoshi Yagisawa is well known for his dramatic symphonic band compositions. Even though he has written relatively few marches, they are also very popular: March Willing and Able is based on a chorale while March Bou Shu is based on a Japanese folk song. The Memory of Our Native Place is a rather unusual piece for Yagisawa, as it actually closely resembles a traditional march. The piece opens with a lively fanfare and is contrasted by the following theme. The trio features a chorale-like melody. 0:03:20
