This work was commissioned by Marktmusik Timelkam to celebrate its 170th anniversary. It describes the cultural life and hustle and bustle of the band's home base, the Austrian town of Timelkam. Carnival pictures a festive procession starting at the marketplace and lasting well into the night. The work features many 'carnivalesque' elements and is a joy for players to perform. There is a lot of merry activity going on in the music; people cheerily chatting in the inn; singing and dancing together and having fun. There is also room for a melancholy mood, accompanied by reminiscences about eternal goodbyes and searching for love. With the added musical representation of children's playing and pranks, a beautiful sunrise as well as a depiction of the churches and societies in town, this composition is not just an account of a carnival parade but a small portrayal of life.

Norwegian Sunset, composed by Danish composer Bent Fabricius-Bjerre, is a famous song in Norway. In the movie Pinchcliffe Grand Prix, it's performed under a starry night by the main character Reodor Felgeny. The arrangement is based on Sigmund Groven's version, and invites the band to feature a soloist on trumpet or cornet. Wide use of cued notes will help the band to achive good balance also for bands with limited instrumentation.

£183.20Grim - Torstein Aagaard-Nilsen
Grim was commissioned by Sandviken Ungdomskorps in 1998. Grim is a folkloristic pastiche, but also with a jazz-flavoured inspiration. The piece ends with the folk-music played on top of a theme from a march: "Sandvikguttenes marsj" to salute the band that commissioned the music. The title is taken from the word "grimen", a kind of troll that lives in water. He teaches fiddlers how to play if they offer him food a Thursday night in a north-faced waterfall.

The main theme of this composition was created on a clear, starry night on the 10th of August. While writing it, the Italian composer Angela Ciampani was inspired by her son Lorenzo and the sight of stars over the green hills of Umbria. Initially, it was a short solo for trumpet and piano: subsequently, Jacob de Haan extended and rewrote the composition for euphonium solo and band. This arrangement was created for the celebration of the 170th and 20th anniversaries, respectively, of the concert bands of Monteleone d'Orvieto and Citt della Pieve.

Different constellations were supposed to predict the future, and some phenomena have been interpreted as punishment by different Gods. From sunrises and solar eclipses, through rainbows, the scattering of light, sunset in the daytime, moonrises, the northern lights, the new moon, crescent moons and stellar constellations, to shooting stars... our observations encompass all this and much more. The Mystery of Light is the first of a series of pieces with the same theme. 'NIGHTLIGHTS' deals with lights of the night: created partly by nature and partly by man himself and consists ofthree movements: Opener and Star Shower, Lunar Eclipse and Aurora and Fireworks.

Her inspiration for the song was the idea that when we are happy or sad, the elements and the natural world are aligned with our feelings. During World War II, Winston Churchill initiated the formation of Special Force Commando Units that would prove so effective as to change the course of the war. The First Special Service Force, led by their intrepid colonel,Robert T. Frederick, was perhaps the most famous of these units. Due to their ferocious nature and blackened faces for night raids, the fearful Germans gave them the nickname The Black Devils. In 2015 they were awarded theCongressional Gold Medal, the highest honor the U.S. government can bestow. Frederick's Black Devils is a stirring concert march that pays tribute to this legendary unit.
