This rousing and patriotic song was written in 1867, the year of Canada's Confederation. It became very popular and, for many years, was the unofficial national anthem of Canada. The piece opens with a snare drum and gradually introduces the theme in the altos and flutes, while the trumpets play bugle calls that are echoed by the clarinets. This introduction could serve as an opportunity for the choir to "march" into position and be ready for the chorus that appears at the key change. This arrangement is part of a collection for young band celebrating Canada's 150th anniversary since joining Confederation.

This original composition is based on a wildlife research study which took place in Malaysia's largest national park, the Taman Negara. Researchers embarked on an expedition in the jungle tracking that wildest of wild animals, the tiger. Despite spending nearly three years in the rainforest, the researchers never saw a single tiger, hence the "ghost" aspect of the title. The composer's intent in this composition is to take you on an expedition tour and emulate the experience of the jungle. The work is characterized with mysterious melodic themes intertwined with exciting bold flashes of sound. is an embracing and emotional addition to the young band literature from the pen of Victor Lpez.

The title was inspired by the title given to plan created in 2000 by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) to modernize nuclear weaponry. It was commissioned by Jerry Peel, professor of horn at the University of Miami, and was recorded by Peel and the University of Miami Wind Ensemble; Gary Green, Director. Pele was programmed for the College Band Directors National Conference in Baltimore (2004) with guest artist Philip Munds, Principal Horn of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and the Towson University Symphonic Band, with the composer conducting. Pele was inspired by the Hawaiian Goddess of Fire (or Volcano Goddess) by the same name. She was passionate, volatile, and capricious. This lyrical work is an emotional rollercoaster in which we experience a glimpse of her personality - from her quiet moments to her most volatile.

was written as a commission from the National Music Camp of Canada, which runs each year on the shores of beautiful Lake Couchiching, north of Toronto, Canada. The goal in composing this piece was to give the top students at the camp a challenging and original piece to play. The first movement is a march in 5/4 that derives its pulse from the melodic shapes, rather than set groupings of beats. The middle movement is a slow homophonic song with rich harmonies and thick chordal textures requiring good listening and tuning skills. The third movement is a burner in mixed meters featuring solo alto saxophone and a soaring soli for the French horns. This is a great concert suite to showcase the achievements and abilities of a senior ensemble.
