Ogopogo - Grant Michel
Ogopogo is a mysterious, aquatic monster said to live in a lake in British Columbia. Though that in itself may inspire a student's imagination, the piece, like its title, is also a musical palindrome. Composer Grant Michel has written?both the main melody and the main counter-melody as musical palindromes and has hidden other palindromic ideas throughout the piece for students to find. Celtic Scents is an amazing suite of wonderful musical scents (wildflowers, herbs, and trees) unified by the brilliant imagination of world-renowned teacher, performer and composer Kazimierz Machala, and the familiar sounds of Celtic folk music.
