Grand Mesa - Eric Ewazen
The Colorado Mesa University Wind Symphony, under direction of Dr. Calvin Hofer, has hosted the annual and continually growing Best of the West Music Festival. In 2007, Ewazen was guest composer and commissioned for a new concert band work to celebrate Grand Junction and the towering Grand Mesa that rises above the town. Inspired by this grand landscape, I set out to write a work which was rich, resonant, colorful and bold, a tribute to this amazing scenery which I ultimately had the pleasure of seeing and exploring first hand. For intermediate to advanced bands.

All Bells in Paradise (Concert Band with Optional Choir - Score and Parts) - Rutter, John - Noble, Paul
All Bells in Paradise was written for the 2012 Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols held each Christmas Eve at King's College. For this, John Rutter turned to a carol text more or less contemporary with King's Chapel itself, the 15th century Corpus Christi Carol, to which he added his own text. This arrangement is written for combined Concert Band and Chorus, but may be performed by Band alone. Bands will find this arrangement very accessible in its technical demands. Its beauty and simplicity will add to music for the Christmas season.

SUITE OF ENGLISH FOLKDANCES (Symphonic WB Extra Score) - Tomlinson, Ernest
Extra score only. In 1951 Ernest Tomlinson, at the invitation of his sister Freda, attended a Festival of Dance and Song presented by the English Folk Dance and Song Society. He was so captivated by the tunes danced to, that he resolved to write an orchestral suite based on some of them. The composer's arrangement for wind band follows closely the textures and colour contrasts of the orchestral original. The Suite, which is dedicated to his sister, is in six movements, all the tunes being selected from the first edition of John Playford's The English Dancing Master. Includes: Jenny Pluck Pears; Ten Pound Lass; Dick's Maggot; Nonesuch; Hunt the Squirrel; Woodicock. Duration: 12 mins.
