£89.99Ave Maria - André Waignein
Ave Maria, an excerpt from the Missa Solemnis, was written by Andr Waignein at the request of the Aosta Valley Regional Council, in Italy. Missa Solemnis contains all the musical parts that are used to accompany liturgical rites. However, the composer was keen to include an Ave Maria in memory of his mother, who was a very religious person and especially revered the Virgin Mary. This Ave Maria reveals a shimmering melody with very discreet orchestral support that allows the vocal or instrumental soloist to express their emotions through exceedingly generous musical phrases. Waignein has made this work for solo soprano or tenor and band, butit's also a very beautiful piece for several solo instruments such as flute, oboe, Bb clarinet, alto saxophone or trumpet. The composer naturally dedicated this Ave Maria to his mother. This moving piece will undoubtedly captivate your audience.

£53.95Ave Maria - Sergei Rachmaninov
This moving piece embodies all the simplicity of Russian Orthodox music, yet displays the sweeping beauty of Rachmaninov's lyricism. Conductors will appreciate the opportunity to teach extended phrases and legato style. Vespers is the sunset evening prayer of the Orthodox Church, and during the canonical hours of an all-night vigil, the Ave Maria would be sung at midnight, hence the 12 chime notes at the apex of the piece. For a special effect, the mallet parts can be doubled off-stage to simulate church bells. (2:40)

Ave Maria - Anton Bruckner
Anton Bruckner (1824-1896) is known today primarily for his massive symphonies for orchestra. However, he also composed a number of vocal works for forces of varying size and character, including three settings of the "Ave Maria."This setting was originally for alto voice and organ, and ulike the other settings, dates from Bruckner's mature years. It reflects all of the notable characteristics of his style - simple but rich textures, bold and surprising harmonic progressions and a fervently religious mood. Stunning!

In this version the commonly used accompaniment by J.S. Bach has been substituted by a completely different one. The percussion section should not be too dominating.

£89.99Ave Maria (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Schubert, Franz - Doss, Thomas
The Ave Maria by Franz Schubert is known and loved worldwide and was originally written as part of the song cycle The Lady of the Lake. In the course of time, the German text has been replaced by the traditional Latin prayer so often that the song has become known as the Ave Maria by Schubert. This lyrical melody, stirring in its simplicity, is complemented by a murmuring accompaniment that imitates a harp, a feature that Thomas Doss fully does justice to in this arrangement.Duration: 6:30
