Commemorations was written during Martin Ellerby's tenure as Composer-in-Residence to the Regimental Band of Her Majesty's Coldstream Guards. The idea behind this particular commission was to write a work commemorating various events in the Regiment's history. The resulting work was an amalgam of such pieces written for specific occasions - hence the work can be performed as a whole or as individual movements. The movements are: Fanfare and Royal Procession; Hougoumont (March in Memoriam); Jacob the Goose (Scherzando Militaire); Elegy, 1944 (Anthem for a Regiment); Blue, Red, Blue (March in Celebration). Heroes On Parade

Angel Trumpets - Score and Parts - Richard Phillips
This march contains a selection of carols with linking themes; 'Hark! the herald angels sing' and 'Angels from the realms of Glory' proclaiming 'Joy to the world' are clearly evident.
