Echoes of the Riverbank is a two-movement work dedicated to the late composer Mark Williams and mentor Harry D. Blake. £91.99Guardians of the Waves - Philip Sparke
Guardians of the Waves was commissioned by the Japan Coast Guard Band to celebrate their 30th anniversary in 2018. They gave the premiere as part of a 30th anniversary concert on November 8th that year. Set in traditional march form, Guardians of the Waves opens with a short introduction, which leads to the main theme, played initially by the brass and then repeated with a florid woodwind descant. The theme is extended and morphs into a second theme, first played tutti and then quietly repeated by bassoon, tenor sax and euphonium. This leads to a conventional 'bass strain', played twice with varying accompaniments. A quieter trio section follows, delicately scored and featuring the tenor instruments of the band. Taken up by the full band, this leads back to a recall of the introduction and a return to the main two themes, which lead to a triumphal close.Recorded by the Kobe College Wind Orchestra and its conductor Osama Matsuura

While not difficult, this is one of King's nicest marches and is an excellent selection for concert, festival, or contest use by bands of all levels. Battle Of The Winds - Duble
If you've been looking for a march challenge, this is it! "Battle of the Winds" is a classic circus "screamer" that wails from start to finish! Low brass and woodwinds get a workout from top to bottom, and the upper voices squeal in "battle" with the lower voices. Everyone will thrill to the gaudy fun of this vintage circus tune. Not for the faint of heart, and while it's a technical workout, it's well worth the effort. One of the most challenging and exciting marches you'll ever hear!

Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of fire, lightning, wind, and volcanoes. According to legend, she lives in Kilauea, one of the worlds most active volcanoes. The chant of her devotees while Kilauea spews lava and fire into the sky is the basis of this composition. The first of four connected sections is Tribute, where the chant starts as a solo voice that adds weight to the chant with each repetition. The Awakening begins with an ominous mood that builds to an explosive climax as Pele wakes and reveals herself in full glory. March to the Sea comes at a faster tempo as two themes, creator and destroyer, interweave during Peles unyielding journey to the ocean, reaching fever pitch as Fire Meets Water.

£79.99Land of Hope and Glory - Edward Elgar
Elgar's five Pomp and Circumstance Marches were written between 1901 and 1930 with number 1 undoubtedly being the most popular of the five. King Edward VII told Elgar that the tune would 'go round the world' if words were fitted to it. Elgar took the hint and included it (with slight rhythmic changes) in his Coronation Ode of 1902, with words by A. C. Benson. Thus was born Land of Hope and Glory which is now, of course, an integral part of the annual Last Night of the Proms, when the audience (with varying degrees of success!) sing the words along to the original march. Now your concert band can enjoy all the pomp and ceremony of the proms with this arrangement by Philip Sparke.

£91.99Parade of the Clockwork Soldiers - Philip Sparke
This piece was inspired by the composer watching his young son, Benny, playing 'soldiers' with his collection of teddy bears - how appropriate!But it made him think of the many character pieces which take the form of a 'toy march', the most notable examples being by Haydn, Tchaikovsky and Leon Jessel. Parade of the Clockwork Soldiers is in the form of a 'patrol' (starting and ending quietly with a louder middle) and aims to represent a band marching past the listener. In fact, where the hall layout permits it, it could be possible to add a little choreography to the piece, starting and ending with only a few instruments on stage.
