West Side Story was debuted on Broadway in 1957 and became an instant success. It was certainly revolutionary for its time, with a script reflecting contemporary society and music which integrated fusions of many new styles, including jazz. The timeless music of Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story has been woven together in this exceptional medley of songs, arranged for concert band by Jay Bocook. The songs include: Maria; Tonight; One Hand, One Heart; Cool; and Somewhere. This music is equivalent to grade 3 standard. Both the score and complete set parts are included.

Film composer Elmer Bernstein is remembered in 1) Catalonia before a musical gear change that references the work of his contemporary colleague, "Bernstein East", aka Leonard Bernstein.
