The work tells of the Greeks, who once erected a temple on the island; of the Romans who occupied the island; and of traditional processions that continue to take place. Next is a kind of trio with a melody that will linger in your mind. Lively sounds bring us back to the lyrical main theme once more, but this time exuberant, like a pop ballad.
