Grnemeyer! (Concert Band - Score and Parts)

The German singer and actor Herbert Gr?nemeyer has remained faithful to his own style since the beginning of his career in the eighties, yet still managed to further develop his craft and himself, all the while remaining successful. His albums sell well, and his concerts, especially in Germany, are frequently sold out. Wolfgang W?ssner chose four diverse songs from Gr?nemeyer's extensive repertoire (M?nner, Mensch, Flugzeuge im Bauch and Mambo), creating a medley that remains exciting to the very end. 07:50

Mantua (Concert Band - Score and Parts)

The city of Mantua holds significant historical importance for the southern Italy's region of Tyrol. In this dramatic work Otto M Schwarz tells the tale of the Tyrolian freedom fighter Andreas Hofer who was executed in Mantua in 1809. The composer follows the life of this great folk hero, from his humble beginnings as an innkeeper to his death. This piece has all the energy of an exciting adventure movie - just without the pictures, of course! 14:00

NEW SOUL (Concert Band) - Donatien & Naim

Quite the rage globally, this charismatic tune is all over the airwaves ... even used domestically in a prominent television commercial. From the Yael Na?m compact disk, New Soul seems almost familiar, but it's actually brand new. Your brass and woodwind players take turns sharing the upbeat melody with a solid pulse as the foundation. Right off the airwaves ... it's fresh, tuneful and--most of all--great fun!

The Golden Age Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)

The Golden Age is a programmatic composition in four movements. I Overture For the Netherlands, the seventeenth century was a period of great flourishing in the fields of economy, culture and politics; thus it is called the Golden Age. Overseas trade boomed, and the Dutch East India Company (known as the VOC by the Dutch) was founded and expanded to become a powerful -and, at the time - modern enterprise. II ?Adios espa?oles!(Farewell, Spaniards!) In 1567, the Spanish army invaded, led by the Duke of Alva. There was a fierce resistance against the Spanish tyranny; toward the end of the sixteenth century, the Dutch proclaimed the Republic. However, the Spanish continued the war. Only with the Treaty of M?nster in 1648 did the Dutch get their much sought-after independence. This was also the end of the Eighty Years' War. III Rembrandt's Night WatchThe field of culture, particularly literature, painting, sculpture, architecture, the art of printing, and cartography developed fast. It was in the Golden Age that the celebrated painter Rembrandt van Rijn created his famous Night Watch. IV The Admiral Overseas trade entailed the colonization of large areas in Asia, from where precious products that yielded lots of money were brought in. Surrounding countries were also involved in such practices. Colonizers poached on each other's territories in the literal and figurative sense - in this context the Anglo-Dutch Sea Wars are legendary. The fourth movement starts with the English patriotic song Rule Britannia, after which the Dutch Admiral Michiel de Ruyter makes the English change their tune; one can even hear the roaring of cannons. When the smoke of battle has cleared, a small fragment of a Dutch song about Michiel de Ruyter appears, followed by a fitting closing. 0:11:30

The White Tower (Concert Band - Score and Parts)

The year is 1798 and thieves, robbers, and bandits prowl the countryside, wreaking havoc wherever they go and more often than not escaping without so much as a scratch. This was, however, not the case with a supposedly well-planned assault on the German town of Daaden, during which 20 long sought-after crooks from Germany, France, and Holland where captured. Otto M. Schwarz' exciting musical montage lets people experience the planning, assault, and attempted retreat first hand! 20:05
