Legend of the Lake (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Glyn, Gareth - Noble, Paul
The origins of Legend of the Lake lie in music Gareth Glyn composed for a film which wove a tale of smuggling, treachery and unrequited love into the fabric of old legends, some dating from Celtic times, about one of the many sacred lakes of Anglesey. Whether the music depicts the fleet-footedness of smugglers' ponies, the summary punishment of outlaws or the bittersweetness of remembrance, the theme of the Spirit of the Lake, first heard on a distant trumpet at the beginning, is never far away.

Aureus (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Roels, Stijn
This composition was written on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the De Pinte wind band. This is also the derivation of Latin title Aureus (golden - from the word aurum, or gold). This work is comprised of three main sections. The first and last sections are predominantly a musical setting of the concepts of celebration and joy in keeping with the theme of jubilee. The music is therefore above all dynamic, energetic and extrovert. The middle section has a more introspective, melodic character, contemplating the subtle beauty of life. Aureus is a newly composed chorale that establishes the most important attributes in life and also within a club or association: love, friendship, health and happiness.Duration: 10:00

Philip Sparke selected three songs from the 18th and 19 century for his Three Folk Song Miniatures: the sherman's song Dance to Your Daddy, the love song O Waly, Waly and Bobby Shafto, a song from the northwest of England.Duration: 5:30
