The majestic Evergreen Fanfare (Sean Brown) was written in Autumn 2010 and is aimed at a young wind band. The composer writes: 'My goal with Evergreen Fanfare was to have the quality of sound and music that a more advanced band work (or even an orchestral work) would have, but at the difficulty level suitable for an advanced middle band or young high school band. My aim is to always write music that is pleasing to listen to for both the performers and audience alike, musical experts or novices alike.' This work was commissioned by the Miyazaki Prefectural Police Band from Kyushu, Japan, and was premired in 2017. Bandmaster Sano is an elder alumni of Musashino Academia Musicae, Toyko, where Satoshi Yagisawa also studied. He asked Yagisawa to write a brilliant one-minute fanfare that could be played as an opening piece for any concert. It will be perfect for yours!
